USFEC has established a new route for this year?s Martinsville parade. They intend for the expected value of the makespan of the parade to still be 120 minutes. Note that the Makespan refers to the total time that any part of the parade is on the parade route. Therefore, USFEC wishes to evaluate if the expected makespan time of the parade is correct using a level of significance of 0.05. To evaluate this test, USFEC has simulated the parade on 8 occasions. The resulting makespan values are listed below. Note that all Makespan values are measured in minutes. 117 131 109 135 125 126 129 113 (a) Identify Ho and H1, the appropriate hypothesis test, and the critical region for this test. (b) 1f the true mean is 130 minutes, then what is the probability of a Type II error? (e) Compute the test statistic and identify and interpret the appropriate conclusion. (d) Compute the P-value for this test. Draw conclusions using the p-value (e) Construct and interpret the confidence interval that is most relevant to this problem. Explain how it supports the conclusion you made in part (c).
