A point is graphed in polar form. Find its rectangular coordinates. n-(x) (x, y) = 2 Need Help? Read It Submit Answer Save Progress

Solution

Point in polar form : ( 2, 5pi/6)

Rectangular coordinates : x= rcos(theta) ; y = rsin(theta)

x = 2*cos(5pi/6) = 2(-sqrt3/2) = -sqrt3

y = 2sin(5pi/6) = 2(1/2) = 1

So, (x, y) = ( -sqrt3, 1)
