As of 2012, the movies with the highest worldwide box-office sales are Avatar, Titanic, and The Avengers. The total box-office sales for all three movies were $6.5 billion. The box-office sales for Avatar were $0.2 billion less than twice the box-office sales for The Avengers. The box-office sales for the Titanic were $0.6 billion less than the box-office sales for Avatar. Determine the box-office sales for each of these movies.

Let the box-office sales for Avatar, Titanic, and The Avengers be x, y and z respectively
Then,according to question,we have
x+y+z=6.5 ...(1)
x=2z-0.2 ...(2)
y=x-0.6 ...(3)
On solving the above equations,we get
x=2.8, y=2.2, z=1.5
So, box office sales for avatar = 2.8 billion dollars,
box office sales for Titanic = 2.2 billion dollars and
box office sales for avengers = 1.5 billion dollars
