Suppose that after the electroplating was complete, you wiped the cathode copper strip very harshly with a tissue wipe (wiping off some of the electroplated copper off the strip). How would this specifically affect your calculated value of the Faraday constant?

Suppose that you left the power supply on for 19 minutes (instead of 24 minutes) as the procedure specifies. How would this specifically affect the calculated value of the Faraday constant?

Solution

1. It would raise the farady constant value. the amount of copper on the cathode with not be right because you would have wiped some of it off

2.  It probably would not have an effect, there is no reason it would affect the average current used in the calculation for the Faraday constant
