The nurse reviewing Katie\'s labor notes the following information: onset of labor was at 7:00 AM, Katie\'s cervix was completely dilated at 11 8:45 PM her infant was delivered at 10:30 PM, and the placenta was delivered at 10:33 PM.

At 7:00 AM onset of labor started so it was the first stage of labor.This stage can last for 6 to 36 hours.Contraction starts and they are painful.

At 8.45 PM cervix was completely dilated so it is the second stage of labor.In this stage of labor the baby\'s head move down to uterus and reaches to vagina.

From 10.30 to 10.33 PM will be the third stage of labor.It is the delivery of placenta.It may be deliverd soon after the birth aur it may take some time.It may be through physiological management in which placenta is deliverd spontaneously with mother\'s effort or it may be through active management in which a ecbolic (contarcting drug) is given to the mother then the placenta is delivered.
