Solve the linear inequality and identify the correct interva

Solve the linear inequality and identify the correct interval notation.

Solution

1) 1 < -3x +10

3x <9 ---> x<3

Interval ( -inf , 3)

Option c

2) 9x +2y = 30 ---(1)

3x -4y = 24 ---(2)

Multiply equation 2 by 3:

9x +2y = 30

9x -12y = 72

-----------( subtract)

14y = -42

y = -3; 3x -4y = 24

3x - 4(-3) =24

3x = 24 - 12 = 12

x = 4

Solution (4, -3)

Option b
