I think it would be ok to eliminate all mosquitoes because:

Genetically engineered mosquitoes could be a better option to prevent mosquitoes causing diseases.This has been found effective in Brazil and Cayman islands to reduce the numbers of mosquitoes by 92% and 96% respectively.The process includes gentical modification of a gene in male mosquitoes such as Aedes aegypti (carries Zika vurus and dengue) that is passed to offsprings after mating.The offsprings carrying the gene fail to undergo proper development and eventually die before they reproduce or transfer the diseases to humans.This process though could help in elimination of mosquitoes but is not always effective.The process involved is not always successful as it is not possible to breed female mosquitoes with sterile male mosquitoes.Also, mosquitoes can be genetically modified to resist infection from dengue virus by modifying the JAK/STAT pathway,thus preventing the occurence of dengue in millions of people around the globe.This is again a long process as introducing disease resistant gene to mosquitoes and converting to the entire population of mosquitoes to disease resistant ones would take much time.
