A construction engineer has designed an experiment to investigate 3 different types of pressure treatment that can be applied to raw lumber. The experiment was conducted as a completely randomized design in which 21 pieces of raw lumber were selected with 7 assigned at random to each of the pressure treatments. The response variable was water repellency. The sample means are given in Table 1 below. Furthermore, we know that SSE = 228.64. Let the significance level = 0.01.
A) Complete the ANOVA table by filling in the missing cells. Use 2-decimal precision where appropriate.
While it was easy for me to calculate the \"error\" row given the sum of squares for the error, I\'m finding it hard to solve for the other cells. Can somebody please give me a strategy for approaching the rest of this problem?
| Treatment | n | Mean |
| I | 7 | 71 |
| II | 7 | 63 |
| III | 7 | 56 |
Solution
Treatment 113922.7
Total 114151.34
Mean square 56961.35
F = 249.13
