The structure of nucleus best reveals the evolutionary unity of prokaryotes (plants, animals, fungi). All the prokaryotes contain the DNA in a membrane-bound organelle called nucleus. The structure of mitochondria also reveals evolutionary unity, which carries its own DNA. The Inheritance of the mitochondrial DNA is a non-nuclear inheritance. They are inherited from the mother only. Though the entire living beings share some percent of DNA in common, diversity is there, this defines the process of evolution.
