describe the parallel and difference between allopatric speciation and sympatric speciation.

Solution

Allopatric speciation and sympatric speciation are both types of speciation in which ancestors were common and lived in same geographical area.

Differences:

Allopatric speciation takes place when two populations of a species are separated by some geographical barriers such as a river or a valley. Due to the geographical isolation, the two populations can not mate and develop into different species over time.\'

Sympatric speciation takes place between two populations in a same geographical region. The two populations do not mate due to ethological (male and female do not attract each other) or mechanical or temporal differences. Over time these populations develop into different species.
