Solution

A. (frictionless pulley)

Sum of torques = 0 = Mg*R - Mg*R

B. Angular momentum conservation

Li = Lf

But since Li = 0

So if monkey goes up at speed v then

Lm = r x p

since(r and p are perpendicular)

Lm = mvr

Bot total L = 0

means banana must move at same L = mvr

Now,M is same in both cases, So V must be equal

So monkey will never reach to bananas.
