how will filtrate proteins affect the osmotic gradient betwe

how will filtrate proteins affect the osmotic gradient between the Glomerulus and the filtrate and what will happen to his GFR? I really don\'t understand can someone please break this down so that I can fully understand the process

Solution

Glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is the amount of filtrate produced by renal corpuscles in both the kidneys in the form of urine per minute. it is (GFR) directly proportional to pressure gradient in the glomerulus. Thus, changes in pressure may result in changes of GFR.

Proteins exert force in the form of osmotic pressure against the filtration due to proteins draw the water into tissues. Proteins like albumin are not filtered by Bowman\'s capsule. Increased albumin content in serum results in increased osmotic pressure in glomerulus and decreases the GFR. In some kidney diseases, the basement membrane of the kidney become leaky and allow the albumin in the filtrate. This increases the osmotic pressure and decreases the GFR.
