use calculator to evaluate the trigohometric function. Round the result to four decimal places 4. cos 71° 325 325( 10 S. tan 5° 6. sin 48 7. cos 50 Solve ABC using the diagrams and the given measurements. 8, A = 465 b=8 + Cen 46-A 13 3 9, B= 24°, c = 1

Solution

As per the diagram, the angle A = 460 and the angle B = 440 Since the sum of the 3 angles of a triangle is 1800 , the angle C = 1800 - 460 - 440 = 900 Now, from the triangle ABC, we have, by the law of sines, Sin A/ a = SinB/b = SinC/c or, Sin460 /a = Sin440 /b = Sin 900 / c 0r, 0.7193398/ a = 0.69465837/8 = 1/c. Therefore, a = (0.7193398)*8 / 0.69465837 = 8.28 ( approx) and c = 8/0.69465837 = 11.52 (approx) on rounding off to 2 decimal places.
