Find out i for t > 0 in the circuit shown in Figure 1.

Solution

For DC supplu inductor act as short circuit and capacitor act as open circuit.

So current i will from 20 volts to 6 ohms to 4 ohms and then finally return to 20 volts.

Total resistance R = 6+4 = 10 ohms

cureent flow i = V/R

= 20/ 10

= 2 Amperes

Therefore current i = 2 A
