Solve the equation. (Enter your answers as a comma-separated list.)

167x(1/4)3x+2=64(4x)-7

Solution

167x(1/4)3x+2=64(4x)-7

LHS 16^7x(1/4)^(3x+2) = 4^14x(4^(-3x -2)

4^(-3x -2 +14x) = 4^(11x -2)

RHS 64 (4^x)^-7 = 4^3(4^(-7x) )

= 4^(-7x +3)

Now we have : 4^(11x -2) = 4^(-7x +3)

Equating the exponents on both sides:

11x -2 = -7x +3

18x = 5

x= 5/18
