The fermi energy of copper is given by eermi-7 eV and Fermi speed is vermi-1.57 x 106m/s at 20° C.+\' A) because its cold so it slows down B) because Fermi assumed electrons are waves» C) because electrons collide almost 108 times per meter D) because of the Coulum forces Question8 Determine the potentialdifference of the electric field E-(45 )1+ (16)j-(10Dam Determine the potentialdifference ofthe electric field E=(45\') + (16 -(10-Mom away from portion of the yz plane. Solution

(6) Given n = 8.46 x10 28 C/ m 3

Current density j = 382 A/ cm 2

                                 = 382 A/(10 -4 m 2)

                         = 382 x10 4 A/ m2

We know j = nqv

From this drift velocity v = j/(nq)

Where q = charge of electron = 1.6 x10 -19 C

Substitute values you get v = (382x10 4)/(8.46 x10 28)(1.6 x10 -19)

                                         = 2.822 x10 -4 m/s

                                          = 0.00028 m/s

(7).because electrons Collide almost 10 8 times per meter
