Calculate and compare the MPPT loading required for a solar

Calculate and compare the MPPT loading required for a solar cell shown in Fig.GA-6 (P.27) at 250C (morning) compared to 450C (mid day). For the at 250C curve take I and V readings from the curve and enter into Excel. Then calculate P = VI for each point, and plot P as a function of V to confirm the maximum power point.

Solution

Ans) From the figure maximum power can be obtained by P=V*I at point where current start decreasing

So for T=25oC I=3.5 A V=0.55 V approximately

P=V*I=0.55*3.5=1.925 W

So for T=45oC I=3.5 A V=0.5 V approximately

P=V*I=0.5*3.5=1.75 W

From the above results you can say that Maximum power occured fot T=25oC

So for T=60oC I=3.5 A V=0.45 V approximately

P=V*I=0.45*3.5=1.575 W
