A linkage map will only be as good as the quality of the genotypic marker data used to produce it. Briefly describe two reasons why a marker may not be included in any linkage group.

Solution

At times genes exist in allelic forms and in those cases it cannot be used as a markers in linkage group.

In eukaryotes the space between two genes are large enough and hence markers cannot be used in such kind of scenarios also.

At times there are recombination hotspots where more recombination occurs, at this points the normal genetic markers cannot be used in linkage groups.
