Yosemite Falls in California consistes of the three sections

Yosemite Falls in California consistes of the three sections: Upper Yosemite Fall (by itself of the ten hightest waterfall in the world), the middle Cascade, and Lower Yosemite Fall. From a footbridge across the creek 2500 feet from the falls, the angles of elevation to the top and bottom of Upper Yosemite Fall are 45.74 degree and 24.42 degree, respectively. How high is the total series of three falls? How high is Upper Yosemite Fall? Round your answers to the nearest foot. must show work correctly to rccicvc any credit [+2]  answer:_________

Solution

Here there form two right triangles having the same base of 2500 ft length up and down to each other with angle of elevations as 45.74 degree and 2442 degree.

So in upper right triangle, if its height is h then

tan 45.74 = height/base = h/2500

or 1.026 = h/2500

or h= 2500(1.026) = 2565.43 = 2565 ( as a whole)

and if the height of the lower triangle is y

then tan 24.42 = y/2500

or 0.454 = y/2500

or y= 0.454(2500) = 1135

So total height of the upper yosemight fall = h+y = 1135 + 2565 = 3700 feet

That is last answer.
