Solution

1. 3D printing is the new manufacturing technology which forms any part by layer by layer process. In 3D prinitng, any part which is to be made is formed in a CAD software and then the CAD model is sliced into various layers by using slicing software. Now the 3D printing machine forms the part in forms of layer. First a layer is developed and then the platform of the machine is moved down and a new layer is formed in this way the whole of the part is generated. This technology is in its childhood stagebat the moment and is used only to make prototypes and toys and replicas.

2. 3D printing is different from conventional machining because it doesn\'t requires any tooling.There is no material lost and the product is so dimensionally accurate that no machining processe can ever achieve. Also no finishing operation is required after the process is over because the surface finish obtained is of very high quality.

3. Aerospace industry, Automobile industry in which cost is not the problem are the industries which is using this technology.

4. Slowly the companies which makes toys,prototypes for the tooling purposes are begining to use this technology.

5. The challenge with this technology is that very large products can\'t be made by this technology as the cost increses rapidly with increase in the machine platform.Other challenges are triangulation error,limited material which can be used.
