Solution
(1) Answer:- Precast concrete element is a construction product produced by casting concrete in a reusable mold. Transported to the construction site and lifted into place. Overhead cranes are used to manipulate them in to position.
(2) Answer:- It is two step process first slabs of concrete ,which will comprise sections of wall are cast horizontally on the building floor slab, or separate casting slab. Then after attaining sufficient strength, they are lifted with a crane and set on prepared foundations to form exterior walls.
Truck crane is used in this construction.
(3) Answer:- Precast and tilt up section are tied with building roof and floor system. They become integral part of the finished structure.
(4) Answer:- Difference between precast construction and tilt up construction:-
Tilt up panels are poured on the job site using a casting bed, and then lifted into place using cranes.
Precast panels are formed off – site usually in factory.
(5) Answer:- Safety considerations:-
(i) Features of site such as sloping ground, rough surfaces, holes and other obstructions.
(ii) Eliminate the hazards
(iii) Monitor and maintain the implemented controls.
(6) Answer:-Advantages of precast material:-
(i) Easy installation
(ii) Top quality and durability
(iii) Fire proof
(iv) Easy control
(7) Answer:- Equipment for Connections:-
(i) Steel billets with a socketed beam end.
(ii) Corbels with recessed beam – end.
(iii) Connection between beams and single height columns.
(iv) Metal bearing plates and embedded anchor bolts are cast into the ends of column.
