Mass of the water needed per day m = Density of water x V

                                                     = 1000 kg/ m3 x 15 m 3 /day

                                                     =15 x10 3 kg / day

                                                     = (15 x10 3 kg) /(24x 60 x60 s)       Since 1 day = 24 hrs = 24 x60 min

                                                                                                                            = 24 x60 x 60 s

                                                     = 0.173611 kg/s

Height of head h = 15 m

Required power P = mgh

                          = (0.173611 kg/s)(9.8m/s 2)(15 m)

                          = 25.52 watt
