Use the distributive property to multiply 4x 1 x3 2x2 x

Use the distributive property to multiply:

(4x - 1) (x3 - 2x2 + x - 1)

Solution

(4x - 1) (x^3 - 2x^2 + x - 1) = (4x-1)x^3 +(4x-1)(-2x^2) +(4x-1)x -(4x-1)*1

= 4x.x^3 -1.x^3 + (4x.-2x^2 +2x^2) +4x.x -1.x -4x.1 -1*-1

= 4x^4 -x^3 -8x^3 +2x^2 +4x^2 -x -4x +1

=4x^4 -9x^3 +6x^2 -5x +1

Use the distributive property to multiply: (4x - 1) (x3 - 2x2 + x - 1)Solution(4x - 1) (x^3 - 2x^2 + x - 1) = (4x-1)x^3 +(4x-1)(-2x^2) +(4x-1)x -(4x-1)*1 = 4x.x
