You are about to bike down a large mountain. At the top of the mountain where the ambient pressure is 11.3 psia your tire pressure gauge reads 28 psig. After riding down the mountain to sea level where the ambient pressure is 14.7 psia what will the reading of your tire pressure gauge be?
Solution
Absolute pressure Pabz = Ambient pressure Pamb + Gauge Pressure Pg.
Now since absolute pressure remaine same in tyre
so 11.3 +28 = 14.7 + Pg2 .
so Pg2 = 24.6 psia
