For the hypotheses H0 4 H1 4 If the p value is 00126 what

For the hypotheses:

H0: = 4

H1: > 4

If the p value is 0.0126, what conclusion do we make at the 0.05 level?

If the p value is 0.0054, what conclusion do we make at the 0.01 level?

Solution

Since H1: > o this is a case of upper tailed test.

If p value is 0.0126 i.e p < 0.05, hence we fail to reject H0 . There is not enough evidence to claim the alternative hypothesis

With alpha =0.01 and p value equals 0.0054 i.e. p < 0.01, hence we reject H0. There is not enough evidence to claim the alternative hypothesis.

For the hypotheses: H0: = 4 H1: > 4 If the p value is 0.0126, what conclusion do we make at the 0.05 level? If the p value is 0.0054, what conclusion do we m
