For acuation system.
What is the primary difference between a DC motor and an AC motor?
What fundamental difference is there in the rotor of a synchronous AC motor as compared to an induction AC motor?
What is no longer needed when changing from a brush type DC motor to a brushless DC motor and why is a rotor position sensor now required?
What is an important difference between a directional control valve\'s flow metering capabilities and a hydraulic servovalve\'s?
What are the six degrees of freedom for a solid body?
What is backlash?
Solution
(A) The primary difference between dc motor and ac motor is the output which is unidirectional for a dc motor and alternating for a ac motor. Also in both armatures of ac and dc motors generated emf is alternating only but it is the split rings and commutator in dc motor makes the emf at output as unidirectional.
(B) The fundamental difference is that the rotor of dc motor is armature and whereas in ac motor it is the field winding.
(C) Commutator is no longer needed and a sensor is required to detect the pole changing of rotor and a hall efffect sensor is used in general.
