Solution

The processes of denitrification and fermentation occur under anaerobic condition and the terminal electron acceptor is not oxygen and hence the energy produced in these two processes is comparativly less when compared to ammonia oxidation where in the ammonium oxidation is the first a step and the rate determining step during nitrification process . since electrons are accepted by oxygen here it yields more ATP in comparison to the other two.
