Solution

a) maximum power is transferred to the load=> Rl=Rt= 8ohms

b) power developed in Rl=> Pmax= Vt2/(4*Rl)= 144/32= 4.5watts

c) efficiency of the circuit accordind to maximum power transfer theorem is 50%

Pmax/P *100 => 4.5/9=50% where P= Vt2/(2*Rt)
