For Question 9 just tell me if its all positive or all negative. I dont need you to fill it out. Please answer all questions. Thanks.
Class Dala YEPD plati Strains of S ra in r op muti, muting type type pln) Plate Strui, r o mutiny Struts of muting t pe ple al a 2 a a a aSolution
In table second, we can find the strains which have mutation in the same gene
Strain a2 and 5and a6 and 4 are having same gene mutation. The table is showing recessive gene interaction, positive point ensures that one or both strains have functional gene. The negative growth, means absence of strain, indicates the recessive interaction of the same gene.
Strains in YEPO plate, all strains have complementation group.
In Ym the positive signs represent complementation group.
4a. If we assume that all six strains have allelic mutations, interactions between them would make mutant phenotype. There would be minimum one gene mutation, in such case maximum interactions will produce wild type progenies. One gene mutation will provide two progenies having mutant phenotypic expression.
4b. If we assume that all six strains had non-allelic, then there is minimum two genes must be mutant.
4c. From table one; we can say the cells have more than 6 different type of mutations with 3 minimum have no mutation because the all resultant progenies are wild type. In table 2nd, there are 4 to 7 different mutations, because four strains (see above) have same mutation. Four strains = 2 mutations.
