Given Data :

Engine oil temperature(T) = 600c = 333k

Velocity of flow of oil (V) = 2 m/s

plate temperature(TS) = 200C =293k

length of the plate(L) = 5m

width of the plate(b) = 1 m

Q = (T - TS) / L/kA

area of the plate (A) = Length(L) x width(w)

A = 5 x 1

A = 5 m2

thermal conductivity factor for the plate at 200c is 0.2 W/m-K

Rate of heat transfer (q) = KA(333-293) / 5 = 0.2 x 5 x (40) / 5 = 8 kw
