How could two engines possibly make for a more efficient automobile? What does this have to do with real options?

So, I will answer according to that question.

answer -

Here noted as hybrid automobile has two motors - Gasoline and Electric ( two engines)

For a more efficient automobile our hybrid engine( gasoline + electric) should perform simultaneously in a way that one should work immediately after the absence of another.

While working both will result high power consumption and high power input which result in no change in efficiency(small and negligable), which we get in normal engine.

To make more efficient automobile engines will run one after the other. i.e,

1- Gasoline will run and electrical engine will not run.

2- Electrical engine will run and Gasoline will not run.

Otherwise we have to consider primary engine as one engine and secondary engine as other (backup engine).

this type of engines will not exist completely in now a days in real lifes or may inventing in some other places, So might be helpful in future.
