Moist air is flowing at 05 lbs It enters a device at 75F wit

Moist air is flowing at 0.5 lb/s. It enters a device at 75F with 80% RH and is cooled to 50F. How much moisture is condensed from the moist air? How much heat removal occurs?

Solution

Given : m = 0.5 lb/s, T1 = 75F = 23.889 oC , T2 = 50 F = 10oC, RH = 80%

From psychrometric chart, specific humidity = w1 = 0.014 kg vapour/kg dry air

w2 = 0.007 kg vapour/kg dry air

h1 = 56 kJ/kg, h2 = 27 kJ/kg

1) Moisture condensed from moist air = w1 - w2 = 0.007 kg vapour/kg dry air

2) Heat removal = (h1 - h2 )*m = 6.5771 kW.

 Moist air is flowing at 0.5 lb/s. It enters a device at 75F with 80% RH and is cooled to 50F. How much moisture is condensed from the moist air? How much heat
