Could a cell survive by having just peripheral proteins on it’s membrane? Why?

Solution

Principal component of plasmamembrane are lipids , phospholipid and carbohydrate . Phospholipid make good barrier between interior and exterior of cell . Phospholipid , cholestrol expand range of temperature for normal functioning of membrane. So without Phospholipid it is not possible that membrane survive .Peripheral protein only help in signal transduction and allow only certain molecules in and out of cell. They also function as receptor for hormone etc.
