Briefly describe the transertion process. Why is this process important for insertion of proteins into the cell membrane?

Transertion is a hypothesised term that includes transcription and translation as a single process. Scientists, since a long time believed that protein transcription and translation are NOT two physically separate process, I.e. They are coupled. There were strong experimental and theoretical evidences that proved that both of these processes were physically coupled. It has been proposed that If these processes were coupled, they would  structure membranes and nucleoid, direct chromosome replication and segregation, cell division and also help in differentiation.

Transertion is important for proteins in cell membrane, because it justifies the various forms taken up by the proteo- lipid domains , processes including nucleoids, and RNA degradation. It would also put more emphasis on membrane structuring via not only integral membrane proteins but also the proteins that are secreted or exported through the membrane. Also, that peripheral membrane proteins might contribute in structuring, is an explanation given by transertion.
