This is supposed to be done in a Matlab script. I have the functions for Simpson 3/8 and Trapezoid. I know how to do the graph in part A and the error in part C. I\'m just not sure about estimating the double integral with simpsons and trap.

Solution

You can reduce the 2 variables integration to single variable by integrating one variable keeping other variable constant and finally substitue the limits of respective integrated variable. Now you will have standard single variable integral to be resolve with Simpson 3/8 rule and Trapezoidal rule implementing on matlab. The reason of doing this here will not alter the approximate value you are going to get after applying the rule. That is just for simplification. Hope this helps you ease the solution.
