The Rover senior design team needed to slow down the rpm of the wheels at least 1/1677 from the motor shaft and it will increase the torque of the wheels. The Mars Rover is designed either evade or climb obstacles autonomously. If you are given the task written above, what would you do?
Solution
I will use a gear box which has speed ratio 1677 . If we need to evade, we will disengage the gearbox whereas if we need to climb obstacle, we will engage or use the gearbox. The selection can be done by a sensor.
