Solution

prove (sin x + cos x)2 = sin 2x +1

LHS:

from( A+B)2 = A2 + B2 +2*A*B

( sin x+ cos x)2 = sin2x + cos2x + 2*sin x*cos x

[ sin2x + cos2x = 1, sin 2x =  2*sin x*cos x ]

so ( sin x+ cos x)2 = 1 + sin 2x

LHS=RHS
