now balancing moment about point B,

(1.3 x 230) + (0.5 x 720 x sin76) - (1 x A ) = 0

A = 648.31 N .............Ans ( along -ve x axis)

balancing forces on beam in vertical direction.

-230 + (-720cos76) + By = 0

By = 404.18 N


now balancing forces in horizontal direction,

-A + Bx - 720sin76 = 0

-648.31 + Bx - 698.61 = 0

Bx = 1346.92 N

reaction at B = 1346.92i + 404.18j

magnitude = sqrt(Bx^2 + By^2) = 1406.26 N
