What are the primary limitations of microscopy for detection and characterization of microbiological targets in environmental media?

Solution

Microscopy can only help in identification of microbiological sample whether it is gram +ve bacteria for example or gram -ve bacteria.

By the help of microscope it is easy to detect which type of microbe it is whether it is bacteria, fungus or virus. But microscopy can not be helpful in characterization of microbes.
