What is the difference between flooding water level(highest water level), design water level, navigation water level and lowest water level in bridge engineering?

Solution

(1)Answer:- Similarity between code ,provision, specification ,guidelines :- All are used for maintain quality of construction , environmental protection, reduces hazards in civil engineering.

Difference between code, provision ,specification, guidelines in civil engineering:-

Code:- When governmental bodies adopt the standard and become legally enforceable, or when it has been incorporated into a business contract, the standard will become a code.

Provision:-It maintains discipline in construction. It maintains health and safety standard during construction in civil engineering.

Specification:- Specific description of the design and materials used to make something. They are set of instructions and requirements over and above requirements given in Code & Standard.

Guidelines:- It includes civil engineering policies procedure.

(2) Answer:- Hierarchical system of code is based on the idea that coding will be in the form of quality hierarchy where the lowest layer of hierarchy contains the minimum information for intelligibility. Succeeding layers of the hierarchy adds increasing quality to the scheme.

(3) Answer:- Difference between flooding water level ,design water level ,navigation water level and lowest water level :-

Flooding water level:- Maximum water level at time of flood is called flooding water level.

Design water level:- That water level at which bridge is designed called design water level.

Navigation water level:- That water level which is required for navigation for boat or ship. This is called

Navigation water level.

Lowest water level:- Minimum water level in river is called lowest water level.
