Firstly the modernization theory is a theory which basically focusses on technology,education and mass media and the fact that these are a major reasons due to which the various developed countries or regions are ahead of others. The major drawback of this theory is that it does not explain the fact that where the various resources, labor and power come from which usually helps to make this development possible and help some places to grow.

On the other hand the Dependency theory is a theory that picks up the the broken pieces which modernization theory leaves behind to give a space for interpretation. This theory states that the main reason for the underdeveloped regions in poverty in the world is due to the the unleveled distribution of power in global politics and markets . Moreover,the Dependency theory goes deep into the fact about how international economics plays an important role in underdevelopment of various places..Collectively both the theories tell us about global inequality which is about poverty,malnutrition,gender inequality and the lack of free primary education.This is how it addresses the various aspects of global inequality with different perspectives.The main goal is to overcome the problems that lead to global inequality.
