How at the molecular level is excessive ethanol consumption
How -at the molecular level- is excessive ethanol consumption lead to the inhibition of gluconeogenesis?
Solution
Excessive alcohol consumption is going to generate high NADH generation due to activity of aldehyde dehdrogenase in alcohol. This high NADH is going to inhibit gluconeogenesis at molecular level by halting the oxidation of lactate into pyruvate finally result in hypoglycemia & lactic acidosis
