Define NTU or number of transfer units for a heat exchanger
Define NTU or number of transfer units for a heat exchanger. Which factors tend to increase the NTU?
Solution
Solution:
NTU- Number of transfer units
NTU is nothing but derived from a method called NTu method or effectiveness method in heat exhangers to calculate the maximum possible heat transfer in the heat exchangers.
It is given by
NTU= U*A/ C where u -heat coefficient ; A- area ; C- factor calculated for each type of heat exchanger
So the factors which will increase the NTu is Area and overall heat transfer coeffcient.
