If a set of three loci are completely linked, do you expect to see more or less double recombinants than if they are all unlinked. Explain.
Solution
Doule recombinants are produced as a result of double crossovers. Here a set of three loci are completely linked. If the genes are completely linked (next to each other on the chromosome), they cannot be separated by crossing-over, Thus it shows 0% recombination and it doesn\'t produce double recombinants.
But if genes are unlinked it shows 50% recombination because of the independent segregation.
So less double recombinants if the genes are completely linked and more double recombinants if the genes are unlinked.
