Solution

2x+15y=7

10x - 42y=22

To check whether (-4,1) is a solution or not,we have to plug x=-4 and y=1 in both equation. And on plugging if the left side and the right side are equal for both equations,then (-4,1) is a solution

2x+15y=7

starting with left side

2(-4) + 15(1)= -8+15=7 which is equal to right side.

10x -42y=22

Starting with left side

10(-4) -42(1)=-40 -42=-82 which is not equal to right side

Hence (-4,1) is not a solution of the given system of equations
