The front wheel drive cars are the most popular and powerful cars.Generally,in the Front Wheel Drive (FWD) mode,the front wheels take the responsibility for propelling and steering the car.So,if the car with front wheel drive gets stuck in the corner ,the driver exerts power on its anterior wheels.The front pair of wheels does a dual job i.e. produce a centripetal force for keeping vehicle in line and accelerating along its path of motion.Usually the friction offered by path play a key role in offering both centripetal force and acceleration and helps in keeping the vehicle under control.But when the power received by the wheels is more than enough ,friction from road might not be enough for keeing vehicle in control and this may lead to condition of understeering.Understeering refers to a condition in vehicle dynamics when the traction is lost on the front wheels while cornering,forcing you wide on a bend despite applying correct steering angle.My car is MARUTI SUZUKI ALTO which is a front wheel drive vehicle Understeer occurs when accelerating into the bend, braking into the corner,ploughing into corner too fast or low traction conditions such as ice or oil on road.The evidence involved are its weight distribution ,mac pherson strut(front) and coil spring(rear) suspension, chassis setup and 145/80 R12 tubeless tires for the problem of understeering.Active factors involved are cornering speed ,throttle,braking,steering inputs and weight transfer.To overcome the problem of understeering ,one must be as smooth as he can while driving ,dont need to enter corners flat out or accelerate as one exit.One must not brake in a corner.Therefore,problem of understeering can be solved.
