1 4 2 3 Question 12 What type of triangle is AXYZifmex 49e a
#1
#4
#2
#3
Solution
Solution to 1 is option b, obtuse angled.
Given the measure of two angles to be 49 and 31. Therefore the third angle = (180-(49+31)) = 180-80 =100.
An obtuse angled triangle is one in which two angles are acute and one obtuse.
Solution to 4 is option d
x + y = 1800, by linear pair axiom (If a ray stands on a line the the sum of the two adjacent angles so formed is 180o ).
Solution to 2, option a and option d are correct.
<1 and <2 together forms <RST, clearly from the figure.
Also their sum is 900. Thus, they are complementary too.
(If <1 and <2 where 450 each then all the four options would have been correct).
Solution to 3 is option d, by the exterior angle property, ie. the exterior angle is the sum of interior opposite angles.
Thus <4 = <1 + <2 = 63 + 72 = 135.
