A sample of methane CH4 occupies a volume of 2060 mL at 25 C

A sample of methane, CH4, occupies a volume of 206.0 mL at 25 °C and exerts a pressure of 1070.0 mmHg. If the volume of the gas is allowed to expand to 710.0 mL at 298 K, what will be the pressure of the gas?

Solution

Using, P1V1/T1 = P2V2/T2

206.0 x 1070.0 / 298 = P2 x 710.0 / 298

P2 = 310.45 mmHg

 A sample of methane, CH4, occupies a volume of 206.0 mL at 25 °C and exerts a pressure of 1070.0 mmHg. If the volume of the gas is allowed to expand to 710.0 m
