Jenny invested her savings in two investment funds The 4000

Jenny invested her savings in two investment funds. The $4000 that she invested in Fund A returned a 4% profit. The amount that she invested in Fund B returned a 1% profit. How much did she invest in Fund B, if both funds together returned a 3% profit?

Solution

Given Jenny $4000  invested in Fund A returned a 4% profit.

The amount that she invested in Fund B returned a 1% profit.

both funds together returned a 3% profit.

Let the amount invested in Fund B is $X.

Then both the funds together = $(4000+X)

4%profit on $4000 + 1%profit on $X = 3% profit on $(4000+X)

(4/100)*4000 + (1/100)*X = (3/100)*(4000+X)

(4*4000 + X)/100 = (3*(4000+X))/100

(4*4000 + X) = (3*(4000+X))

16000 + X = 12000 + 3X

16000 - 12000 = 3X - X

4000 = 2X

2X = 4000

X = 2000

Therefore, the amount invested in Fund B is $2000.

Jenny invested her savings in two investment funds. The $4000 that she invested in Fund A returned a 4% profit. The amount that she invested in Fund B returned
