Question 3 What is the blood type of sample 1 sample 2 Sampl
Solution
A-3.
Blood typing is a method of determining a type of blood group an individual posses. This test is done so that the method of blood transfusion (can be called as mixing of blood) can be done correctly and safely. The given table describes the type of antibodies each type of blood has.
Now, the table below is going to describe the reactivity of each blood group and its antibodies with the antigen (the serum used in blood typing) to determine the type of blood group.
A+
O+
The above table shows the reactivity of the anti-D serum positive that is, all the groups above are Rh+. If the anti-D reactivity would have shown negative the blood groups would have been Rh- respectievely.
So,
the answer is as follows
Sample 1- is blood group O- (Rh- due to its reactivity with Anti-D serum shown negative) and can transfuse blood from group O- only.
Sample 2- is A+ and can tranfuse blood from groups A+,O+ and O- (O- being universal donor).
Sample 3- is B+ and can transfuse blood from groups B+, O+ and O-.
A-4.
The world studies of the percentage of population having differet blood groups are as follows:
O+ - 38%
O- - 7%
A+ - 34%
A- - 6%
B+ - 9%
B- - 2%
AB+ - 3%
AB- - 1%
So, according to the above percentages the doctors would suspect each individual to may have the first most common group as O+ (being 38%) and secondaly A+ (being 34%), irrespective of being Caucasian, African-American or Asian.
| Type of blood group | Type of antibody it has |
|---|---|
| A | Antibody- B |
| B | Antibody- A |
| AB | Antibody- A & B |
| O | No antibody |
